Pasadena (pronounced /ˌpæsəˈdiːnə/), a city in the United States state of Texas within the Houston–Baytown - Sugar Land metropolitan area is the second-largest city in Harris County, 15th-largest in Texas, and 159th largest in the U.S.  Pasadena is located in the South East corner of Harris County/South Houston.  In 1893 John H. Burnett of Galveston, Texas founded Pasadena, Texas. Burnett named the area after Pasadena, CA because he thought the vegetation was similar.

As per the 2000 U.S. Census, the Pasadena's population was 141,674. Population is estimated to be at 152,968, as per 2007 estimates. The Volunteer Fire Department of Pasadena is the largest all volunteer municipal fire department in the U.S.
